The mission of the Research Directors Interest Group is to provide an interactive group of research leaders at EM residency and EM departments interested in furthering Research whether Clinical, Basic , Science , Social, Database or Educational in origin.
The interest group was initially intended for the Research Directors but will allow for all those with research interest and desire to fulfill leadership in their Departments to participate.
The objectives of the Research Directors Interest Group are to:
- Explore the feasibility of submitting a didactic proposal about “what is a scholarly project” for SAEM 2017 in context of the upcoming ACGME/AOA merger and in an effort to discuss a standardized definition of core practice for resident research.
- Work with the ACEP Research Committee/Pipeline Subcommittee and CORD to formulate a list of online study modules addressing common issues in study conception, design, data collection and statistics. Additionally to collaborate with them on exploring the feasibility of development of a list of biostatisticians to assist emergency care researchers.
