Bio

Now practicing international (primarily in resource-poor areas) and disaster medicine (as a Supervisory Physician with AZ-1 DMAT/NDMS), Dr. Iserson has worked or taught on all seven continents. He also continues to write books and scientific articles, as well as do research with international colleagues. After nearly 3 decades on faculty at the University of Arizona's Department of Emergency Medicine, chair of their very active Bioethics Committee for 25 years, and the Medical Director for the region's Wilderness Search and Rescue team (SARA), he balances clinical work with writing. The author of a dozen books, his most recent are: "Iserson's Getting Into a Residency: A Guide for Medical Students"--8th edition (Galen Press); "Autopsies: More Than You Ever Wanted to Know" (e-book); and "Improvised Medicine: Providing Care in Extreme Environments" (McGraw-Hill).
